The Eventual Founding Anniversary of TUMCS

Ever since the Taytay Unted Methodist Christian School was found, aside from having a good academic status, it always used to bring out its best at delivering the good news of salvation to the thirsty young hearts and minds of the continuously impending new generation of innovative learners. With the 26 years of imparting the word of God and spiritual needs that a Christ-believer should evidently have, the school is always loyal at its mission--to share the Gospel among others. The theme verse of the school can be found at the book of Proverbs 22:6 and it says, Train up a child in the way he should go, And even when he is old he will not depart from it.” The Bible verse supports the school's aim to teach every student, from toddler to teenager, the proper discipline, right conduct and etiquette as he grows older and adapt to his society. The school has trained every student to be well-developed mentally, spiritually, socially and physically in order to bring out the best in them and to be one of the best leaders and performers of the society.
I will not forget those kinds of fine teachings and visual endeavour of the school to bring to each student the lighting torch of the Lord before they leave—yes, it’s leave. It may seem sentimental but, I, one of the graduating batch of this school year 2010-2011,though I have started here at grade five only, will still be missing my Alma Mater.
The 26th Foundation Week of the school which was celebrated last February 15-18, 2011, was one of the last events I would definitely experience. There were activities included in celebrating the founding week such as the dancing competition which comprises the different genres—cheering, modern and ballroom dance; Mr. and Ms. TUMCS and ball games(sports event).  All of them, except for the ball games, occurred in one day only, the rest of the days were occupied by such sport activities which include the basketball, volleyball and badminton. Forthrightly saying, the occurrence of such ball games, though it gave much pleasure to the non-player students, was totally monotonous. Like what was happened in the section of IV – David, all their players/ contenders were lost, consequently, making the total sport activity for them uninteresting because they have already no one to cheer for the triumph of their candidates. So, the losers and sections, who have failed to see their contenders winning any of the competitions, do nothing but to sit all day long watching those championship players and buying more and more foods from the different food stands such as Dunkin Donuts; Deli’s Corner, Scramble, etc. and I was one of those audience. Haha! I haven’t joined any sports event though I wanted to. It is because I was not given the opportunity. There were selected players who were much better than me. I couldn’t do anything but to accept that fact. Anyway, there were also no booths for this year. I was expecting that there would be booths and board games like scrabble, word factory, games of the general and the like.
When it comes to the judgement of how the players performed fairly, there was one of the players of basketball, I observed, who seemed to break the rule. Once he played unfairly, but the coach later caught him. As a result, they scored much lower than their opponents. The scoring of the ball games was no bias. I observed how the scorers counted on for the scores of the players in each game.
However, the whole event of the school was totally a memoir especially for those champions, not only in sports but in other competitions as well, who have brought home the bacon. It is good for them to make such a record at the history of TUMCS. For all the losers, it is not yet the end of the world to have such new opportunity again. Remember the school’s inspirational verse from the book of Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
